DVD-Audio (DVD-A)

DVD-A is the audio version of a DVD.

It uses an extended version of PCM technology and provides high frequency response to 96 kHz (slightly less than SACD) and a 144 dB dynamic range (greater than SACD).

Conventional DVD players will not play the high definition data contained on a DVD-A disc.
