Best AV REceiver, finally a website dedicated to AV receivers

I am so excited to start this site.

Ever since I was in college and I bought my first AV receiver, I have been a fan of the AV receiver. I remember Dolby surround, Dolby Digital, DTS, etc etc.. the advances in sound have been amazing…

For those who don’t know..what is an AV receiver?

Wikipedia has the following definition:

“AV receivers or audio-video receivers are one of the many consumer electronics components typically found within a home theater system. Their primary purpose is to amplify sound from a multitude of possible audio sources as well as route video signals to your TV from various sources. The user may program and configure a unit to take inputs from devices such as DVD players, VCRs etc. and easily select which source you want to route to your TV and have sound output for.”

Basically, a receiver is the central source of sound and video switching in a home theater system.
