Heard good things about Onkyo and want to get one but don’t know which one. A little help would be appreciated.

Onkyo TX-RZ810 looks like a good choice especially since you can find it for $1100. When it first came out it was closer to $2000.

Can you share your budget please? Also, what kind of a room is this for? A small room? Medium? This will help us give you better suggestions.

Onkyo TX-NR757 is what you want. It’s very well priced at $599 and well within your budget. And you’ll probably get everything you need for your room. It’s very, very powerful at 180wpc which is a lot more powerful than many devices that cost double the price.

Not to mention it has 8 HDMI inputs and also 2 HDMI outputs. This is a very good receiver for just $599. I haven’t yet seen another brand with 8 HDMI inputs for under $1000.

The Onkyo TX-8160 was also a great model but it’s harder to find a new one to buy. But if you want to get an used one this shouldn’t be more than $400.
