Own a KEF LS50 Wireless system? It is time to update the firmware, as the company has just rolled out support for the Spotify Connect feature for the speakers.

This will allow Spotify Premium members to stream the songs catalog available on the service — some 30 million or so songs — using the app as a remote control. The service already boasts a 60 million subscriber base, and this addition will only further the appeal of the system.

Which already has received rave reviews for its sound quality, style and price.

KEF announced this integration in a blog post on its US website, but the update will certainly be available to users across the globe.

The new feature builds upon and expands the already impressive connectivity list that this system offers. You have DLNA streaming, Tidal integration and Bluetooth to go with playback via the physical inputs that are available on the speaker system.

That being, stereo analogue, optical and USB Type B connectors.

If you own these, and want to activate Spotify Connect, you will be required to update both the speaker firmware of the LS50 Wireless, and also update the accompanying app that is available for download on Android and iOS.
