If you like what Klipsch creates, then you will love the R-28PF and R-14PM Reference Series speakers that the company has just made official. And best of all, these are available for purchase now.

The newly announced R-28PF ($1199/pair) and R-14PM ($399/pair) models join the existing R-16PF ($999/pair) and R-15PM ($499/pair) models, expanding upon high-fidelity power speaker offerings that Klipsch has made a name for itself in.

The idea behind Klipsch Reference Powered speaker lineup is that there is no need for an AVR and passive speakers for many 2.0 and 2.1 audio applications. Instead, a pair of powered speakers equipped with appropriate inputs and a remote control can easily be used.

This approach results in benefits like optimized performance, reduced cost, and less cable clutter.

And this is exactly what you get with these latest arrivals.

The key to these new systems is wired and wireless connectivity. They each come with Bluetooth (featuring aptX), USB audio, an optical digital input, a stereo analog input (phono or line-level) and a 3.5mm analog input.

Klipsch has also thrown in an RCA line out for those that want to connect a subwoofer.

In terms of hardware specifications, the R-28PF brings to the table a bi-amplified system that feeds 20 watts/channel to the high sensitivity horn tweeters, and 110 watts/channel to the woofers. The speakers measure 42″ x 9.5″ x 15.7″ and the pair weighs in at 56.67 pounds.

Meanwhile, the R-14PM are monitor style speakers, offering 80 watts total system power, and a frequency response of 80Hz to 20KHz.

They measure 9.75″ x 5.88″ x 7.5″, and the pair weighs in 7.1 pounds.

Both the R-28PF and R-14PM Reference Series speakers are available for purchase now, at online and brick and mortar retailers.
