Marantz Announces the Release of AV7706 11.2Ch 8K Ultra HD AV Pre-Amplifier

Marantz has just disclosed the launch of its latest 8K Surround AV Preamplifier, the AV7706 and it comes with exciting features that will blow the minds of users. The AV pre-amplifier has 11.2 channels of RCA outputs and XLR, and can be utilized with other Marantz amplifiers like the MM7055, MM8077, and the MM7025.

Given the features and numbers we saw in previous Marantz preamps, the AV7706 seems like a great choice if you are looking for an updated analog preamp as it has Marantz HDAM circuits and analog bypass capacity. According to the producers, the HDAM circuits help in optimizing channel separation, increase signal-to-noise ratio, and minimal cross-reference.

In addition, ELNA capacitors found in the analog domain are required to produce enough power and dynamics for conventional physical sources such as CDs and record players.

The AV7706 enables the next chapter of entertainment with the highest quality, crystal clear viewing experience and masterful-quality external power amplification for the most demanding active speakers.  Our team continues to build on our storied 68-year history to set the standard for high-performance home cinema. Fans will enjoy the audiophile sound you expect from Marantz combined with the latest in video and audio decoding. As always, we are proud to deliver sophisticated engineering and our exquisite sound, all in a processor engineered to be the foundation of the most versatile premium performance home theater experience.

In terms of connectivity, the Marantz AV7706 has three HDMI outputs and eight inputs. It also features one 8K input which supports 4K / 120Hz or 8K / 60Hz pass through capacity, 4: 4: 4 Pure Color Sub-Sampling, HLG, Dolby Vision, 21:9 video, HDR10,3D and BT.2020 pass-through.

The HDCP 2.3 copy protection standard is found on all HDMI inputs in the AV7706 and it features HDR10 +, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Dynamic HDR, Variable Frame Rate (VRR),  Fast Frame Support (QFT), and Fast Media Switching (QMS).

The video processor has the capacity to scale any natural video link up to 8K quality. Additionally, the AV7706 comes with HDMI eARC, which enables 3D audio formats including Dolby Atmos height virtualization, Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual: X, DTS: X, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced.

Marantz hasn’t officially announced DTS: X Pro support on the AV7706, although its flagship SR8015 will receive this update very soon. There are strong indications that DTS: X Pro is designed for models that have 11CH processing, such as the the Denon AVR-X8500H, Marantz SR8015 (13CH) AV Receiver, and possibly the yet-to-be released Marantz AV8806 model.

For installers and integrators, the AAV7706 offers broader support for flexible integration such as Domotz Pro and, OvrC, two basic remote monitoring and control technologies. It also comes with a designated user interface on the web for setting up AV receivers from computers using the same network.

The AAV7706 enables Installers to effectively monitor the connection status of devices and troubleshoot problems from one location or while on the move.

In addition, the AV7706 can easily be adapted to third party integration solutions with external IP and RS232 control functions. It also comes with IP control functionality for third party primary control devices and Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) for seamless integration with devices equipped with Control4 home automation.

Infrared input and output for the remote control is linked on the back panel to ensure its compatibility with the units in the home theater setup.
